We began because of the concerns of some members of the Afghan community about the financial needs of our people faced with the loss of loved ones.  In December 2006, Houston Community Afghan Community Services (HCACS) was formed as a non-profit organization, registered with the state of Texas.

To date, HCACS is achieving one of its founding goals: the purchase of part of a cemetary to be used solely for the Afghan community.  But HCACS is concerned with the social and spiritual needs of our community as well.

We branched out with programs for Nourooz and Mother's Day, which were well attended.

With Allah's help, we will encourage a sense of unity in the community, and foster the Afghan identities of our children.
